In an effort to better serve families with complex Autism diagnoses, Heartleaf ABA has welcomed Jonathan Kimball, LBA, BCBA-D., to our team as an expert consultant for our network of therapy providers. Dr. Kimball has nearly 40 years of experience working with children affected by Autism and other developmental challenges. He is a graduate of Bowdoin College in Brunswick with advanced degrees from Columbia University and Ohio State University where he completed his Ph.D. in Special Education and Applied Behavior Analysis.
Over his extensive career, Dr. Kimball has published a number of notable presentations and research articles examining clinical best practices, the use of technology in Autism therapy, and the gamification of behaviors to promote sustainability. His dedication to the advancement of ABA therapy and Special Needs Education has earned him the “Children’s Champion” award from the Children’s Center in Augusta, ME as well as two “Behavior Change for a Sustainable World” awards from the Berkshire Association for Behavior Analysis and Therapy (2019) and the Association for Maine Behavior Analysis (2020).
As a consultant with Heartleaf ABA, Dr. Kimball will be mentoring our recently graduated BCBAs through their first year of clinical practice, providing research support to clinicians pursuing additional education, and offering in-field assistance for complex cases.
